I am considering the idea of changing the essay question to something along the lines of, 'How can multisensory design survive through and after covid?' as this allows for a wider breadth of topics to explore within the confines of experiential (multi-sensory) design.
The original question proposes the question of how valuable is experiential design in the field of branding, which is an interesting topic in that it questions an area of branding that hasn't been extensively documented (experiential event agencies) who's works implement a multitude of creative skillsets which relate to so many aspects of the values and strategies behind creating a 'strong brand identity'; and it does offer the comparison of general psychologies of shopping and the marketing/branding theories behind the decisions made on the shop floor. It just feels that the question almost limits the discussion at that, there isn't much room to explore avenues such as the value of experiential design being seen in other fields of working; the question almost feels a bit run of the mill and doesn't have a clear drive behind it, leaving the essay a bit fragmented and indecisive.
Moving forward I'm going to redirect the question into one that has a clear drive behind it, one that can be tied through the essay into more encompassing elements.
Potential Essay questions:
- The relevance/importance of multi-sensory design/branding in consumer and art industries. will it survive through and after covid?
- How can multisensory design/branding survive through and after covid?
