Synesthesia

Some collage tests. Trying to work out the colours and forms I want to use in potential projections. Three variations, each trying to present differently interpreted forms seen by individuals with synesthesia. The collages have been presented in a VR format to give reference and experiment with how I could present the strong use of colour and blurred visuals prevalent with people who have synesthesia. A virtual reality format could be an effective way of presenting synesthesia, as it can put you in the shoes of those who have lived with it.

Working out the hierarchy of shapes and colours to see what kind of imagery and patterns I can use within projections potentially. Have experimented with the legibility of type, as to draw reference to David Genco's presentation of synesthesia.

2.

These tests were in aim to experiment with the merging of colours and forms, and the 'spiral' like forms seen by people with synesthesia. Use of geometric shapes as a reference to Wassily Kandinski.

3.

Quick tests in layout, what composition will I want the projections to be, will they all be uniform all will they vary in form, size and proportion?

Potential development:

Relating to the essay discussing sensory design within the retail industry and research into synesthesia, I could potentially rebrand a product launch for a retail company (i.e. Lush, Apple, Abercombie & Fitch, Dunkin Donuts) that incorporate sensory design and marketing techniques, but brings awareness to synesthesia and incorporates the aesthetic of this (based off peoples description of it in their own case) - also drawing relevance to how sensory incorporates a strong sense of inclusiveness.
