(BRIEF) Pact Coffee and Joe Cruz workshop

screen recording of Jo Cruz talk on desktop
  • First job through live brief applications
  • Broke out into the industry by trying a more experimental approach to his design.
  • Was commissioned for that same style of working for a lot of his initial work.
  • Balanced passion projects and commissioned work
  • As he got more established, he tired to expand the portfolio of work - replicated traditional printing techniques with a scanner (fashion week)
  • Keep the passion in the work and do work that reflects you.
  • Use the library and reference pieces that aren't contemporary and popular - everyone's looking at the same stuff online - find inspiration in libraries where you can draw back to years before.
  • Learn different techniques and aesthetic - Find a process/style that works for you and make it yours.
